First, let's check if cloud recording is already enabled in your account

How to check your current status:

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Access Account Settings

For Account Administrators:

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal
2. Navigate to Account Management → Account Settings
3. Click on the Recording tab

For Individual Users:

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal
2. Go to Settings → Recording
3. Look for cloud recording options

Important: If you're part of an organization, you may need administrator privileges to enable cloud recording for all users.

Enable Cloud Recording

Note: Legacy Feature

Cloud recording is a legacy method. NoteWave now uses bot-based recording that works with any Zoom account. The information below is only relevant if you prefer to use Zoom's cloud recording feature, which requires a Zoom Pro plan or higher.

Enable cloud recording settings:

Cloud recording

Enable this main setting first

Record active speaker, gallery view and shared screen separately

Recommended for better transcription quality

Record audio only

Optional: Enable if you want audio-only recordings

Configure Recording Settings

Recommended Settings:

Automatic cloud recording: Disabled

Record video during screen sharing: Enabled

Optimize for 3rd party video editor: Enabled

Audio transcript: Enabled

Storage Settings:

Recordings are stored for 120 days by default

Auto-delete can be configured

Download permissions can be restricted

Test Your Setup

✅ Test Recording Process

1. Schedule a test meeting with yourself
2. Start the meeting and click "Record" → "Record to the Cloud"
3. Speak for 1-2 minutes, then end the meeting
4. Check your Zoom account for the recording (processing takes 5-10 minutes)
5. Verify that NoteWave receives and transcribes the recording automatically

Pro tip: NoteWave will automatically detect and transcribe your cloud recordings. You'll receive an email notification when the transcript is ready (usually within 5-10 minutes after the meeting ends).

Troubleshooting

Common Issues & Solutions:

Cloud recording option is grayed out

Cloud recording requires a paid Zoom plan. However, NoteWave no longer requires cloud recording — our bot joins your meeting directly and works with any Zoom account.

Recording starts but doesn't appear in cloud

Make sure you selected "Record to the Cloud" not "Record on this Computer" when starting the recording.

NoteWave isn't receiving recordings

Check that your Zoom integration is properly connected in the NoteWave dashboard and that auto-transcription is enabled.
