Introduction
NoteWave uses Lemon Squeezy as our billing partner to handle subscriptions, payments, and invoices. This guide explains how to access your billing information, manage payment methods, and download invoices.
Accessing the Billing Portal
To view and manage your billing information:
- Log in to your NoteWave account
- Navigate to Settings → Billing
- Click Manage Subscription
- You'll be redirected to the secure Lemon Squeezy customer portal
- Here you can view invoices, update payment methods, and change your plan
Secure Payments
Viewing and Downloading Invoices
Every time you're charged, you'll receive an invoice via email and in the billing portal:
Email invoices:
- Invoices are sent to your NoteWave account email immediately after payment
- Subject line: "Your NoteWave Invoice" or similar from Lemon Squeezy
- Includes a PDF attachment with your invoice details
- Check your spam folder if you don't see the email
Portal invoices:
- Go to Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription
- In the Lemon Squeezy portal, select Invoices
- Click on any invoice to view details
- Click Download PDF to save a copy
Updating Payment Methods
To update your credit card or payment information:
- Go to Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription
- In the Lemon Squeezy portal, select Payment Method
- Click Update Payment Method
- Enter your new card details
- Click Save
- Your next payment will use the new card
Failed Payments
Understanding Your Billing Cycle
Your billing cycle depends on whether you chose monthly or yearly billing:
Charged on the same day each month. For example, if you subscribe on January 15, you'll be billed on the 15th of every month.
Charged once per year on your subscription anniversary date. Save 17% compared to monthly billing.
You can view your next billing date in Settings → Billing or the Lemon Squeezy portal.
Tax and VAT Receipts
Lemon Squeezy automatically calculates and applies appropriate taxes based on your location:
- All invoices include tax breakdowns (VAT, sales tax, etc.)
- Tax amounts are calculated at checkout and shown before you confirm payment
- For business accounts, you can add your VAT number in the billing portal to potentially qualify for reverse charge
- Download invoices from the portal for your accounting records
Refund Policy
NoteWave offers a 7-day free trial for Pro and Business plans. After the trial:
- Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase
- Contact contact@notewave.co.za to request a refund
- Provide your account email and reason for the refund request
- Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
